Henning Koppel joined Georg Jensen on his return to Denmark after World War II. 'African Girl' was one of his earliest designs in his pursuit for 'the perfect pitcher' and is understood to have presented a huge challenge for the craftsmen creating the beautiful long slender neck reminiscent of the African women who wore neck rings
