Records tumble at $8.96m auction of rare and prestigious Australian artworks

Auction records tumbled when some of Australia's most prominent artworks went under the hammer in Sydney overnight. The Sotheby's auction titled Important Australian Art cleared $8.96 million, with at least four works setting world auction records for their artists.
