This lot was originally sold with a cassette recording by Mary Macha of the story and song that accompany the work performed by the artist in Perth, February 1997. The vendor recalls that Mary Macha's original documentation advised that this ilma had been made by the artist to appease his brother's spirit. He recalls that Wiggan had explained that his brother had died sometime before and been buried on a beach, and his spriit had been disturbed by someone repeatedly driving on the beach with a broken muffler. The ilma and associated song had been created to help his brother's spirit find peace again.
