Provenance:
Collected by the vendor's grandfather, Frederic Swann, in Western Australia, the Northern Territory and South Australia in the early 1900s

Frederic Swann was a surveyor during the opening up of the Western deserts in Western Australia, the Northern Territory and the far north of South Australia in the early 1900s. He would trade refined flour, tea and white sugar with the Aborigines of the area in exchange for their artefacts.
