In 1946, MV Agusta, the famous helicopter manufacturing company, entered into motor cycle production with a 98cc two-stroke machine. Post war Italy, starved of transport, soon saw other manufacturers follow suit. As with all Italian machines the MV Agusta bikes were produced with flair and passion. Such was the quality of these bikes that larger versions such as Sport and Super Sport models followed as dictated by public demand.

The famous Moto Giro d’Italia, a race around Italy for motorcycles of up to 175cc was for machines of this type. In 1958, along with all other open racing events in Italy, the Giro was banned for safety reasons. The Giro in a revised form was resurrected in 2001. Such is its popularity amongst international riders that many keep bikes of this type in Italy for just this event. The bike offered here has been restored in Italy and is believed to be the only example of this model in Australia. This very collectable bike is eligible for the Italian Giro and the new Australian version ‘Moto Giro Australia’. This bike has all necessary import documentation.
