NOTE There is a possibility that this table belonged to Hannibal Macarthur. Macarthur owned Subiaco which was built by John Verge in 1835 and when he was made bankrupt in 1848, sold Subiaco and its contents to Bishop Polding who established a Benedictine Monastery there between 1848 - 1958. Subiaco was sold to the Rheem Hot Water company having been unsuccessfully offered to the National Trust andit was subsequently demolished. The Benedictine Monastery moved, along with its furnishings to Pennant Hills and it was at the dispersal sale in 1984 that the present owner purchased this piece
