Louis Hurt was born in Ashbourne Derbyshire in 1856. A prolific painter predominately painted Highland cattle grazing in the wild northern Highlands. He was a member of the Royal Academy in London and his works can be found in several public collections including the Manchester City Art Gallery and Reading City Art Gallery
