of upright form, the saya decorated with a continuous waterside scene, on one side Momotaro seated beside a pine tree being offered gifts by an oni watched by a dog, the reverse with a pheasant kneeling and other figures beside the waves at the water's edge whilst cranes fly overhead into the radiating rays of the sun, and sailing junks in the distance, all inlaid in typical Shibayama style, the interior four-case inro lacquered with decorative patterns; signed Ryoichi, with wood netsuke of a man carrying a large bundle on his back, signed Minkoku; and ivory ojime
