Condition Report
The painting is in good sound condition overall. There are numerous small areas on the figures garment that display resinous yellow/brown surface stains. Stable raised tent cracks and fine craquelure throughout the work which is consistent with age. Mild surface abrasion confined to the left side, lower area and within the centre area of the background colour. Mild paint film surface rippling along the left side of the work. The painting has been relined onto linen. Small areas of paint loss confined to the figures garment. There are numerous areas that indicate retouching within the left side background colour and the figures garment.
