Each bombe rectangular-shaped rock crystal carved to front in a continuous scallop pattern, the reverse etched in a cross hatch design, to a sculpted wide bezel, approximately 32 x 25mm, signed Webb, clip fittings.

At a Christmas party in New York in December 1970, Gloria Vanderbilt referencing an Art Deco crystal necklace she was wearing, engaged David Webb in a long and animated discussion on the beauty of low key luxury jewellery. The next day on a flight to Australia, Webb set to designing a crystal jewellery line and by the time the plane touched down he had produced over twenty designs. The collection set in gold and platinum embellished with tiny diamonds was lauded for its innovation and style and soon become a favourite accessory of the New York doyens.
