OTHER NOTES
The qin enjoyed a peak of appreciation among the emperors of the Ming Dynasty. It was considered by the literati to be an inseperable part of high culture, and the scholar Tu Long (1542-1605) stated that every scholar's studio must have one hanging on the wall.

CONDITION 

Possibly relacquered, the underside lacquer crackled and flaked off in parts, the upper surface somewhat degraded and matt and some brownish areas and some crackled areas, some cracks on the wooden area to the side of the string terminals
