Positioned as Australia's pre-eminent arts and design auction, this sale assembles important furniture, paintings, metalwork, glass, ceramics, works on paper, jades, textiles and artefacts, selected for their quality, rarity, beauty and historical significance. This October, Collections includes treasures from the estate of the late Colleen McCullough AO. The group will include her personal manuscripts of The Thorn Birds (1977) and Tim (1974), along with her handwritten notes and amendments, the typewriter she used to write them, and an assortment of never-before-seen written works, drawings and personal possessions dating throughout life.
Collectively the works in this sale define and contribute to our understanding of our multi-cultural nation and the artistic and literary treasures it houses.
