1971 Ford Falcon GTHO Phase III

The all time classic GTHO Phase III appeared in 1971 and was at the time reputedly the world’s fastest four door production car and Australia’s fastest four door production car for almost a decade. It is the definitive Falcon GT and perhaps the definitive Australian muscle car. Just 300 examples were built between May and November 1971.

 

Allan Moffat drove a Phase III to victory in the 1971 Bathurst 500 (indeed Phase IIIs took 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd, 5^th and 6^th places that year) and the 1973 Australian Touring Car Championship.

 

The vehicle offered is one of only 37 Phase III cars that were finished in Yellow Ochre. Retaining much of its originality this iconic Australian car has travelled less than 1,000kms since a superb restoration ten years ago and is in absolutely immaculate condition throughout.
