of rectangular form, the front decorated in relief and picked out in bright colours with a pair of cranes standing beside a gnarled fruiting peach tree and lingzhi fungus growing on a river bank, the reverse painted and gilt on a black lacquer ground with a water landscape of fishing boats, pavilions and rocky outcrops, framed and supported on a hardwood stand carved in high relief with bats among floral scrolls and angular dragon motifs

Condition Report

Front surface of cloisonné panel: accretions and surface dust throughout; crazing throughout and some darkening to the yellow ground associated with surface accretions; star crack near lower left hand corner and approximately three retouched losses to the left hand edge. Frame in good order, structurally sound with consistent strong colour. Back surface of panel: three scuff marks, two running diagonally and intersecting, one running horizontally; some cracking to the edge of the lower left and right corners and near the top left corner.
