Catalogue Notes

This regulator was the shop regulator of Willis & Sons, Melbourne who eventually became Australia's largest manufacturing jewellers. It is highly likely that the Willis family purchased the regulator from the Melbourne branch of James Murray upon James Murray Jr closing the business.
