Of vine and grape design, the front embellished with mixed-cut emeralds and a pearl hinged to reveal a portrait, supporting a chain swag suspending a foliate motif terminating in an emerald and diamond swing drop.

The portrait of the gentleman is probably the Reverend Francis Russell Nixon, who by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of Queen Victoria on 21 August 1842 was appointed the first Anglican Bishop of Tasmania.
