Makybe Diva went on to win the Group one W. S. Cox Plate at Moonee Valley on Saturday 22nd October 2005 and her historic third Melbourne Cup at Flemington on Tuesday 1st November 2005. Makybe Diva was retired following her third Melbourne Cup victory, with fifteen wins from thirty six starts. She finished her racing career as Australia's highest stakes winning horse with $14,526,685 in prize money. Makybe Diva's legendary on track feats have placed her among the great racing icons with Phar Lap and Carbine.
