The Speedmaster was not originally designed for space exploration. After anonymously outperforming a selection of other watches under extreme, harsh and rigorous testing, NASA selected the Omega Speedmaster Professional to accompany the Apollo 11 astronauts, thus attaining its now famous and legendary status as the first watch to be worn on the moon.
