Important Australian Art for Private Sale - Rick Amor

14 June 2022

RICK AMOR

Smith & Singer are delighted to offer Rick Amor's Memory of a Foreshore 1990 and Rooftop, Barcelona Studio 1991 for private sale.

At the end of the twentieth and beginning of the twenty-first centuries, Rick Amor’s art stands as both a summary and continuation of many of the styles and concerns that have preoccupied Australian and in particular Melbourne artists over the past one hundred years.  In subjects such as Memory of the Foreshore 1990, the tonalism of Max Meldrum and Clarice Beckett, the naturalism and serenity of Arthur Boyd’s Port Phillip Bay subjects, and the existentialism and urbanism of John Brack, converge to create an enduring image of both local and global relevance.
