Jeffrey Smart’s market test as 10 paintings go to auction

Ten of Jeffrey Smart’s paintings will be auctioned over the next few weeks, providing a test of whether the early-year buzz surrounding the late artist has been sustained. Seven paintings will go under the hammer at Sotheby’s on Tuesday night, ranging from pieces from the 1940s to works on the eve of his death last June.
