April 19, 2024

IMPORTANT AUSTRALIAN ART

Smith & Singer’s tightly curated April 2024 auction of Important Australian Art achieved exceptional results for traditional, modern and contemporary Australian art with a total of $10,294,854 (including buyer’s premium).

Determined bidding from clients in the saleroom, on telephones, and online resulted in an outstanding sold rate for a mixed vendor sale of 114% by value and 75% by volume, showing the depth of demand across all categories.

Results were led by stellar performances by artists including Arthur Streeton, Brett Whiteley, Fred Williams, John Perceval and Charles Conder, with new world auction records established for both Nicholas Harding and Bronwyn Oliver.
